The event started with our well-known lion dance performance by our own MCSIM Lion Dance Troupe. It is believed that the lion dance can help frighten away evil spirits and bring in luck with the new year. This year, we are also proud to present a new act -- dragon dance as the opening performance!
The lucky draw sessions were hosted by our Director of Welfare, Chai Wei.
To get the ball rolling, we grouped the participants up using different snacks placed under their seat for the Lo Hei session.
How could Chinese New Year be celebrated without Lao Sheng or better recognised as Prosperity Toss - Lo Hei for the Cantonese? There are 11 phrases associated while tossing the ingredients together and a belief, that the louder you shout and the higher you toss, the greater your fortune will be!
Participants can't wait to have the scrumptious dinner that we've prepared after the Lo Hei session! While they enjoy the food, our performers took turn to showcase their talents on the stage.

On behalf of MCSIM, we would like to thank all MCSIM kakis and friends from other student clubs for the continuous support throughout the year and making this event a success!
