Lunar New Year 2020 - Blooms of ProspeRATy

On 20th January, MCSIM had successfully held its first event for the year of 2020, annual Lunar New Year celebration with the theme of - Blooms of ProspeRATy. This event served mainly as a platform for all SIM students to gather together for a reunion dinner before Chinese New Year especially those who could not make it back to home. Also, participants can make new friends throughout this event! The event began at 6:30pm and ended at 9:30pm.

Our organising committees gathered at as early as 10am to get ready with all the preparations needed.

Committees were briefed by our President, Esther and Event Director, Chun Wei about their respective roles and responsibilities

Next, we continued with a Lou Hei session. It is a Chinese tradition which symbolises "tossing up good fortune".

It's finally time for DINNER!

Meanwhile, we also invited some special guests such as SIM Guitar Club and Esprimere Singing Club to perform while our participants were enjoying their scrumptious dinner! Their performances were really wonderful and the audiences truly enjoyed it.

After all the performances, we engaged the participants with an interactive quiz. The questions asked were related to MCSIM and some Chinese culture as well!

There was also two lucky draw sessions, with a total of 15 lucky winners walking away with our attractive prizes!

Coming to the end of the event, all of the committees performed a mass dance with the song of 大团圆(reunion). We also encouraged all the participants to dance along with us!

A group photo with all the participants. We thank you for your presence and as usual, we hope you enjoyed yourselves and made new friends. We believed all the international students present will have learnt some of our Malaysian Chinese culture throughout the event! Do continue to support MCSIM in the years to come and we always look forward to having all of you together with us.

Thank you SIM Guitar Club and Esprimere Singing Club for taking time off your busy schedule to perform for us. Not forgetting our organising committees, we thank them for their effort and hard work put in into this event. Without them, all these would not have been possible!

Warmest regards,
Joanne Leo
